Now the New Year’s kick-in, have you decided to get your finances under control? It’s never too early or too late to get your funds under control, so take the following steps to rid yourself of minor money worries.

Plan – Before you make any drastic action, take a day off to really re-think your money spending habits. It might be that you haven’t realised how much you spend on travel or you’re paying too much for unnecessary bills. Draw up an action plan and attack each expenditure, so you can make it as low as possible.

Cut Back – Think about what are essentials and where money seems to be leaking away from. You’ll be surprised just how much money is going out to things you can do without or no longer need to spend money on. Rather than allowing it to continue, just go without.

Replace – Whether it’s trading in expensive names brands for more reasonably priced alternatives, or tracking comparisons between different products; there’s always a chance that you can grab yourself a bargain. If you’re serious about cutting back, you’ll find cheaper versions for nearly everything you buy.

Trade In – Whether it’s old mobile phones floating around the house, broken jewellery or CDs which you’ve already got stored on your MP3 player, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to sell your unwanted goods.
