Guide to staying fit this year
So you’ve finally decided it’s about time you get back onto the get-fit regime, have you? Well, there’s no reason why that can’t all start today. Lots of people get deterred from the prospect of working out, simply because they assume that they have to shell out on lots of kit. However, that couldn’t be more wrong. There’s no reason why you can’t have a perfectly good workout from the comfort of your own home. Below, suggest a few of the things you can do to trim down your body (and a few of the pounds you’re not to keen on) to get your body back into the shape you’d like it in.
Timetable – First things first, set a rigid plan for your workouts and stick to it. It’s suggested that if you’re looking to lose weight, the ideal plan would involve an hour’s worth of exercise 3-4 times per week. Whether it’s before or after you eat isn’t important, but an afternoon workout tends to be one you’re more likely to maintain as the weeks go on.
Yoga – Begin each session with a few stretches. Yoga can achieve this best, as it aids in helping you relax, just as much as it loosens your muscles and bones before strenuous activity.
Exercises – Squads, lunges, crunches, sit ups, star jumps, pushups (kneeling for females), jog on the spot. Find guides to each of the aforementioned (if you’re not to sure how to do them) and do three sets of 15 repetitions for each workout. If you find that it’s too many, lower it to 10 reps, but make sure you do three sets of them, with a 30-second break between them.
Hydration – Finally, make sure that when you take on a new workout plan, you’re consuming more water than you usually. It’s advised as you’re likely to lose a lot of your body’s water through sweat, so you have to make up for it by having a bottle to hand throughout the day.
If you’re serious about weight loss, or would just like to get your body into a fitter condition, start with the suggestions and see what results you get after a couple of months.
